Estuary Records is a Christchurch based music company, situated in South Shore, along the Brighton estuary. Our focus is on the local creative side of music production and performance. We want to increase the availability of local music and performance to the public.

Coming out of Psy Pirates, Voyage 2008, and our subsequent Canaan Downs involvement running the “Boom Chamber,” we started this new entity in mid 2009. Building up to our first VA release “Garden Spores,” it featured a raft of wonderful electronic musicians from around New Zealand, and spanned across many genres and styles. In order to make it the success we needed, we went about building our own sound system, and traipsed it up and down the country on our Debut Tour.

Our label is what we have created as we felt we had a bunch of absolutely incredible electronic artists floating around New Zealand that weren’t getting the attention they deserved. So we did this, in short, to help promote these artists that we think are amazing. Many of them I am very proud to know and of what they can, and will achieve.

With our new sound system ready to kick it, and with the help of a variety of other Christchurch entities such as Delicious Music, we organize and run a variety of outdoor and warehouse dance events and festivals with which to showcase this amazing talent we have.

We also have the privilege of running RDU98.5fm’s New Zealand electronica show “The Green Room,” to further push our artists. 5 to 7, every Saturday.

We put out at least two albums a year while surrounding these with a selection of amping EP’s from various artists.
